Hope For Each Day

Hope for Each Day is a devotional book filled with words of wisdom and faith by Billy Graham.

The first thing I'd like to mention is the beautiful cover of this book. It is bound in embossed leather with gold lettering. I was so surprised by the great quality of this book when I received it. Besides being a great devotional it would be a perfect accent to set on a coffee table. It also makes it a very nice book for gift giving.

The devotions are dated and start on January 1'st and have a devotion for each day of the year. I have to say this is the only thing that I didn't like about this book. I don't like being tied down to schedule, but with everything else this book has going for it, I can definitely overlook that.

Each day/devotion includes a Bible verse, a short devotion and then a "Hope For Today". Some of these include questions that further your thought process o  what you just read.

Billy Graham is a well known pastor and author and this book encourages the believer to live a life full of joy,  peace and love.

Its the perfect way to start or even end your day!

The House On Foster Hill - A Book Review

If you like a good mystery The House On Foster Hill is the book for you.  This is the first book for Jaime Jo Wright and she has made me an instant fan.  From the very first page, I was intrigued and did not want to put this spine tingling book down.  I tend to do most of my reading at night and this book gave me the heebie - jeebie's.  So if you get creeped out easy like I do, you may want to opt for reading during the day light hours!

The story intertwines two stories, two characters...Ivy and Kaine.  Ivy's story is set in the early 1900's and Kaine's is present day.  They both revolve around the House on Foster Hill.  There is mystery, murder and a touch of romance.  It is brilliantly written and the way the two characters stories come together is pure genius, especially considering there is over a century between them.

I would recommend this for an older audience due to the creepy factor. But if you are older and love a good suspenseful read you have no reason to look any farther than this book.  It is perfect and will leave you thinking about it long after you set it down.

You're Gonna Love Me - A Book Review

You're Gonna Love Me by Robin Lee Hatcher is a sweet story of second chances.  Samantha suffered a tragic and unexpected loss in her family.  She is not filled with fear and decides to protect her self from experiencing hurt again.  She breaks up with her boyfriend Nick because of his adventurous lifestyle and the risks that he takes.

Two years pass and Samantha's grandma is in need of a caregiver.  Samantha heads to Thunder Creek, Idaho.  When she walks into her grandma's hospital room the face she sees is that of Nick, her old boyfriend.  But has Nick changed? Is love worth the risk?

I found this book very enjoyable and full of hope.  Do you ever wonder what if?  Not very often are we given a second chance with someone and this story is filled with easy to relate to situations.  The romance is perfect and I love the small town feel that the story has.

Robin Lee Hatcher is an author that never disappoints and she has done it again!

Reflections of God's Grace - A Book Review

I'll be honest.  I'm extremely picky and hard to please when it comes to devotional books.  I've tried so many and have been left disappointed more times than not.  I have come to the place where I have low expectations why I get a new one.

Well, let me tell you...I was pleasantly surprised with Reflections of God's Grace by Michelle Hanna.  It is a great and encouraging little devotional book that is very easy to relate to.  It does not bind you with dates, but instead lets you set your own pace.  I absolutely love this, because some days I may want to read two, other days I may not want to read a devotion at all, but instead just stick to God's word.  So this was a plus for me.

Her life stories were easy to connect with and everything was uplifting and focused on God's love and Grace.  I would definitely recommend this to others and I think you will enjoy it as much as I did!

A Prairie Girl's Faith: The Spiritual Legacy of Laura Ingalls Wilder

I am a huge Little House on the Prairie fan.  I pretty much have all the books there are available so I get really excited when there is a new book that comes out.  Coming this February you will be able to get A Prairie Girl's Faith by Stephen W. Hines.  I was blessed with the opportunity to review the book and I was so pleased with everything about it!

As a child I learned my Bible lessons by heart, in the good old-fashioned way, and once won the prize for repeating correctly...verses from the Bible.  -Laura Ingalls Wilder

The author of this book, Stephen Hines has definitely done his research.  He gives a very in-depth look at the spiritual journey of a beloved Author.

As you read the Little House books you can see hints of the Ingalls' family faith sprinkled throughout.  Think of some of the songs pa played on his fiddle or the family not being allowed to do anything on Sunday.  This book brings to light the deep faith that Laura had and plenty of information about pioneer life.

One chapter I especially liked was "The Church Potluck".  The author included quite a few recipes which was a very nice touch.  I also loved that each chapter began with a quote by Laura Ingalls Wilder.

This book will be going on my shelf of favorites with all my other Little House on the Prairie books.  If you or a loved one is a fan of the Ingalls' family this book is a must!
