Christmas Time - A Book Review

Some of my most cherished childhood memories are of the stories and the time spent with my mother as she read to me before bedtime.  It was such a special time that me and my sister both looked forward to.  When I became a mother I quickly took on the tradition.  I have always enjoyed reading and I do believe it is in huge part due to the hours spent being read to as a child.

Teaching young children about Christ is one of the most beneficial things you can do for them.  It is never too early to start.  One of the best ways of teaching them about Jesus is through story books.  Christmas Time:  It's All About Jesus!  Written by Sue M. Barksdale is the perfect book to start with.  It is beautifully illustrated with bright colorful cartoon images that capture the story of the birth of Jesus through pictures.  Even the youngest of children will enjoy looking at these fun images.  The story itself is told in rhymes and does not stray from the truth of the birth of Christ.

The thing I liked most was the Christmas Time Devotions that were included in the back of the book.  This is a very unique inclusion that helps families center their Christmas around the true meaning.  Included with each short devotion is a short prayer and family activities.  This makes it fun for the whole family.

I am confident that your family will enjoy spending time together with your little ones while reading this great Christmas book!

A special thanks to Aneko Press for providing me with this book in exchange for my honest review.

  3. By the way, I agree that reading to and with our children is one of the most rewarding activities we can do- and one of the most important!
